Installation
The SportsPlay 541-637 is designed for permanent in-ground installation.
The manufacturer specifies the following requirements:
- Support Structure: Install the 4.5" primary post and 3.5" secondary support in separate concrete footings.
- Extension: Secure the 7-foot extension to both support posts using the manufacturer's specified hardware.
- Installation Reference Height: Maintain 9'7¼" from the underside of the extension to the finished playing surface.
- Concrete Requirement: Use approximately twenty-four 80-lb. bags of premixed concrete, divided equally between the two footings.
- Post Positioning: Position the supports approximately 6" above the bottom of their respective footing holes.
- Concrete Drainage: Crown the top of each concrete footing to promote water runoff.
- Concrete Curing: Allow at least 48 hours before attaching the backboard, goal, and net.
- Backboard Bracing: Secure the backboard braces using the specified mounting hardware and pipe clamp.
- Finished Rim Height: Maintain 10' between the top of the basketball rim and the playing surface.
- Routine Maintenance: Periodically inspect the structure for loose bolts, damaged hardware, or broken components.

Warranty Replacement Parts

Receiving Your Shipment
Please carefully inspect your SportsPlay shipment before signing for delivery.
Verify that the number of cartons, bundles, frames, pallets, and other pieces received matches the shipping documents.

- Inspect the shipment for visible damage.
- Note any visible damage or shortages on the delivery receipt.
- Have the delivery driver acknowledge noted damage when applicable.
- Compare the shipment against your order and included parts lists.
- Keep all original shipping cartons and packaging if damage is discovered.
Missing Items & Concealed Damage
SportsPlay's current terms instruct customers to report missing components within 10 days of receipt.
Concealed freight damage should be reported immediately after discovery. SportsPlay states that freight claims for concealed damage will not be honored more than 14 days after delivery.
Because freight carriers may impose shorter reporting deadlines, we strongly recommend inspecting your shipment as soon as it arrives.
Equipment Assembly
Unless otherwise specified, SportsPlay equipment is shipped unassembled.
Assembly instructions and applicable packing lists are included with the shipment.
