Heavy-Duty 4.5" Gooseneck Construction
The SportsPlay 541-616M features a substantial 4.5" O.D. RS40 zinc-flow-coated steel post with a 7-gauge wall thickness.
Its bent gooseneck configuration provides a 48" extension from the front of the post to the face of the backboard and allows for a 48" ground bury.
The basketball rim mounts directly through the backboard to the horizontal steel post, helping transfer impact forces into the primary support structure.

Installation
The SportsPlay 541-616M is designed for permanent in-ground installation.
The manufacturer specifies the following installation requirements:

- Installation Reference Height: 9'7¼" from the playing surface to the underside of the extension
- Concrete Requirement: Approximately 12 bags of 80-lb. premixed concrete
- Concrete Curing: Allow at least 48 hours before attaching the backboard, goal, and net
- Finished Rim Height: 10' above the playing surface
The post must be properly positioned, plumbed, leveled, and braced before concrete placement. SportsPlay also instructs installers to crown the top of the concrete footing to promote drainage.

Warranty Replacement Parts

SportsPlay Shipping & Delivery

Shipping & Handling
SportsPlay shipments are F.O.B. origin, and shipping and handling charges are not included in the product price unless otherwise stated.
Standard freight charges include normal tailgate delivery within the continental United States.

Receiving Your Shipment
Please carefully inspect your SportsPlay shipment before signing for delivery.
Verify that the number of cartons, bundles, frames, pallets, and other pieces received matches the shipping documents.
You should also:
- Inspect the shipment for visible damage.
- Note any visible damage or shortages on the delivery receipt.
- Have the delivery driver acknowledge noted damage when applicable.
- Compare the shipment against your order and included parts lists.
- Keep all original shipping cartons and packaging if damage is discovered.
Missing Items & Concealed Damage
SportsPlay's current terms instruct customers to report missing components within 10 days of receipt.
Concealed freight damage should be reported immediately after discovery. SportsPlay states that freight claims for concealed damage will not be honored more than 14 days after delivery.
Because freight carriers may impose shorter reporting deadlines, we strongly recommend inspecting your shipment as soon as it arrives.
Equipment Assembly
Unless otherwise specified, SportsPlay equipment is shipped unassembled.
Assembly instructions and applicable packing lists are included with the shipment.
